Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in a small bowl.
  3. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add egg yolk and vanilla. Mix well.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  6. Roll dough into small balls (1-inch diameter). Place on baking sheet.
  7. Flatten each ball slightly with your palm.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are light golden.
  9. Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire rack.
