Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in a small bowl.
- Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add egg yolk and vanilla. Mix well.
- Gradually add dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
- Roll dough into small balls (1-inch diameter). Place on baking sheet.
- Flatten each ball slightly with your palm.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are light golden.
- Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire rack.
Notes
- Dough can be chilled for 30 minutes if too soft.
- Cookies will firm up as they cool.
