Description
Easy slice and bake cookies that you can prepare ahead and bake whenever you want fresh cookies.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
Instructions
- Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in egg and vanilla extract.
- Mix in flour and salt until combined.
- Shape dough into a log, wrap in plastic, and chill for at least 2 hours.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Slice dough into 1/4-inch rounds and place on baking sheets.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden.
- Cool on wire racks before serving.
Notes
- Dough can be frozen for up to 3 months.
- Add chocolate chips or nuts for variation.
