A hearty and comforting casserole combining green beans and potatoes in a creamy sauce, topped with crispy fried onions for a perfect side dish.
Ingredients
- 1 lb green beans, trimmed and halved
- 1 lb potatoes, diced
- 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1 cup fried onions
- 1 tbsp butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Boil potatoes for 10 minutes until slightly tender. Drain.
- Blanch green beans in boiling water for 3 minutes, then drain.
- In a bowl, mix soup, milk, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Combine green beans, potatoes, and sauce in a baking dish. Mix well.
- Top with fried onions and dot with butter.
- Bake for 25 minutes until bubbly and golden.
Notes
- Use fresh green beans for best texture.
- Substitute cream of chicken soup if preferred.
- For extra crunch, add more fried onions before serving.
