Description
Delicious red velvet cupcakes with a creamy frosting.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup red food coloring
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 tsp white vinegar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- In a bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder.
- In another bowl, mix oil, egg, food coloring, vanilla, buttermilk, and vinegar.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients, stirring until smooth.
- Pour batter into cupcake liners, filling each 2/3 full.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool completely before frosting.
Notes
- Store cupcakes in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
- For best results, use room-temperature ingredients.
- Adjust food coloring for desired color intensity.
