Ingredients
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1.5 cups warm water
- 1/4 cup baking soda
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Coarse salt for sprinkling
Instructions
- Mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast in a bowl.
- Add warm water and knead into a smooth dough.
- Let the dough rise for 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C).
- Divide dough into 8 pieces and roll into long ropes.
- Shape into pretzels and dip in baking soda solution.
- Place on a baking sheet, brush with egg wash, and sprinkle salt.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
