Ingredients
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease and flour two 8-inch cake pans.
- Combine cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
- Add milk, vegetable oil, and egg. Mix until smooth.
- Divide batter evenly between pans. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden.
- Let cakes cool completely.
- Beat softened butter, honey, and powdered sugar until creamy.
- Spread frosting between layers and on top.
