Description
A simple recipe for Japanese Shokupan, a soft and fluffy milk bread with a slightly sweet taste.
Ingredients
- 300g bread flour
- 30g sugar
- 5g salt
- 6g dry yeast
- 180ml milk
- 20g unsalted butter, softened
Instructions
- Mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast in a bowl.
- Add milk and knead until a dough forms.
- Add softened butter and knead until smooth and elastic.
- Let the dough rise until doubled in size.
- Divide the dough into portions and shape into loaves.
- Place in a loaf pan and let rise again.
- Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 25-30 minutes until golden.
- Cool before slicing.
Notes
- Use high-protein bread flour for best texture.
- Knead thoroughly for a soft crumb.
- Let the bread cool completely before slicing.
