Rich chocolate brownies with a creamy Halloween-themed cream cheese swirl.
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg yolk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Orange food coloring (for Halloween swirl)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Combine with dry ingredients.
- Spread brownie batter into the pan.
- Beat cream cheese, sugar, egg yolk, and vanilla until smooth. Add orange food coloring.
- Drop spoonfuls of cream cheese mixture onto brownie batter. Swirl with a knife.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes. Cool before cutting.
Notes
- Use gel food coloring for vibrant swirls.
- Store leftovers in the fridge.
- For cleaner cuts, chill brownies before slicing.
