Description

Refreshing homemade cherry iced tea perfect for hot summer days


Ingredients

  • 4 cups water
  • 3 black tea bags
  • 1 cup fresh cherries (pitted and halved)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 lemon (juiced)
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional garnish)


Instructions

  1. Boil 4 cups of water in a saucepan
  2. Add tea bags and steep for 5 minutes
  3. Remove tea bags and let tea cool
  4. Meanwhile, mash cherries with sugar in a bowl
  5. Combine mashed cherries with cooled tea
  6. Add lemon juice and stir well
  7. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours
  8. Serve over ice with mint garnish

Notes

  • Adjust sugar to taste
  • Can substitute frozen cherries if fresh unavailable
