Description

Stir-fried udon noodles with a savory sauce, fresh vegetables, and your choice of protein. A quick and flavorful Japanese dish.


Ingredients

  • 400g udon noodles
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 100g cabbage, shredded
  • 200g protein (chicken, beef, shrimp, or tofu)
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp mirin
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 green onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • Sesame seeds for garnish


Instructions

  1. Cook udon noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat oil in a large pan. Add garlic and onion, stir-fry for 1 minute.
  3. Add your protein and cook until browned.
  4. Toss in carrots, bell pepper, and cabbage. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Add cooked noodles to the pan.
  6. Mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, mirin, and sugar in a small bowl. Pour over noodles.
  7. Toss everything together and cook for 2 minutes.
  8. Drizzle with sesame oil and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
  9. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Use fresh or frozen udon noodles for best results.
  • Adjust soy sauce to taste if needed.
  • Add chili flakes for a spicy version.
