Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup apple cider
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (for glaze)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tbsp apple cider (for glaze)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a donut pan.
  2. Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a bowl.
  3. Cream butter and sugars until light. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
  4. Mix in apple cider and buttermilk.
  5. Fold dry ingredients into wet until just combined.
  6. Pipe batter into donut pan, filling 3/4 full.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden. Cool on a rack.
  8. For glaze, brown butter in a pan, then whisk with powdered sugar, apple cider, and vanilla.
