Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 2 medium apples, peeled and diced
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
- Cut in butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Set aside 1 cup of the crumb mixture for the topping.
- Stir in egg, milk, and vanilla into the remaining mixture to form a batter.
- Spread the batter into the prepared pan.
- Arrange diced apples evenly over the batter.
- Sprinkle the reserved crumb topping over the apples.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool before serving.
